Carbon Kevlar sheet (4 Layers)

Well i have now started to make my own carbon kevlar or carbon fibre sheets.

So far i have experimented from 2 layer all the way up to 8 layers thick.

Results so far

• 1 Layer =   Very pliable, suitable for bonding to other substrate or light duty cover
• 2 Layers = good strength, bending raduis for a a4 sheet size is about 250mm
• 4 Layers = Very strong, with only minimal sheet flex with a very light weight.
• 8 Laters =  Super strong, little or no flex

I am going to start experimenting with adding different weaves into each layer, such as a 2×2 twill then a carbon kevlar weave then 2×2 twill.. etc etc..

this should give it slightly different properties im hoping.

I am also trying to obtain some form of honeycomb material to asses how that affects strength etc when not using it in a vacum/autoclave environment.

Well i have started something i have been wanting to do for a long time, to work in carbon fibre.

I started with the main ram air duct covers on my ZX12R as they are difficult to get hold of, and for special effect i picked a red and back carbon 2×2 twill weave to go over the top..

and i am really happy with what came about.. even more so when VXR Mark did a little extra detailing on top of the resin.. i think we can all be happy with something that looks like glass!

This is a full clear case for the XBOX 360, with added chrome fan cover and green lit uprated LED fan

Here is a real chrome plate (metal chrome) XBOX 360 that we converted today, we have also added a clear window to the side for internal viewing

Here is a clear cased XBOX 360 Controller that we converted today.. many other colours and finishes can be had

Had my first little fireworks shoot… very hastlily sorted out i might add.. but i think some of them came out nicely..

Again a Nikon D80 with a 18-135 DX Lens, F22 with 30 second exposures shot in raw mode..
